Ayrshire Flyers train at the Magnum Leisure Centre, Irvine.
The Flyers were formed in 2001 and enjoyed almost instant success with Stephanie Smith winning the Junior British Open Title. Jennifer Miller won the same title in 2003, breaking two British records in the process. Jennifer went on to become the PeeWee Girls British Champion in both 2005 and 2006.
More recently, Samantha Inch became the Juvenile British Champion in April 2007.
The club is coached by Archie Marshall, (competed and coached at 6 Olympics) and Alex Connell (Olympic competitor and ex Scotland coach).
With effect from 16th June 2005 Ayrshire Flyers Speed Skating Club is registered with the Inland Revenue as a Community Amateur Sports Club (for the purposes of schedule 18 Finance Act 2002) This means that tax paid on donations by benefactors through either gift aid or sponsorship can be reclaimed by the club.
